Mhm, so I’ve heard—and seen in part, at least; I’m pretty sure the death of Littlefoot’s mom would’ve devastated me way back when…maybe not enough for me to not root for Sharptooth at some point (yes, I was that kind of kid), but still.
I have a print of a lovely depiction of the quote Littlefoot's mom says to him... even today it tugs at the heart strings. But I can't argue there; the sharptooth WAS the coolest dinosaur!I was so happy when Chomper was introduced to the main cast!
Y’know, I’ve been meaning to check CS out for a while now—forty bucks for a year, huh? Eh, I don’t see why not!
Truly! Cheaper if you're a student, iirc. I admit I would love a little more variety, but for the price it's phenomenal!
I tried out the Dinosaur King DS game through totally-legal-means™ myself for a spell (I wanna say a few-ish years ago), but found myself getting a bit bored past the first area—shout-out to it randomly having this banger of a boss battle theme, though. On a more recent note, back when I was still into role-playing, I tried to get my fix of that franchise through a Discord server instead…until I realized I kinda despised some of the people running the show there (still feel sorta bad for sitting on a few raffled-out character slots only to do absolutely nothing with them before leaving).
Lord! The music in it does go hard. I'm shocked you found a community for such a niche franchise! Then again, I suppose one is out there for anything, though they tend to be rife with... what I believe you're describing, among other issues. I still miss indie tumblr RP blogs. So much less pressure, and I met some truly talented writers back in the day!
On the other hand, I first got into Fossil Fighters through one of my cousins loaning me the first game—obviously the premise itself hooked me, but I never actually got that far from what I can recall. Certainly not to the Duna reveal, at least, so I had absolutely no context when that cameo came around in Champions (which I got my own copy of courtesy of my mom, of course, methinks—and in any case, actually played to completion). Didn’t stop her in particular (or her theme) from having an impact on me, though…
I am honestly surprised that I don’t remember having a crush on her or anything. What gives, little guy?
Also, while I do have the intended hardware, the fossil minigame is honestly the biggest reason why I haven’t gone back to either game—I gave as much a shot around a year or two ago, and worked myself up way too much trying to excavate everything perfectly even from the start of the game. ’Twas too draining for my tastes, combined with the rest of the early-game drag.
I don't remember getting too far either, even when replying it recently. The early game really is a slog. Gotta say though, the music for that one went hard too. I mean, really! Very Pokemon-esque and adventure-y.
I feel like if I crushed on someone, it was probably the emo kid or something... not a lot of terribly memorable characters though, methinks. Maybe that was why? xD
The fossil minigame is hard as hell without the DS stylus. I kind of like trying to 100% all the excavations, it's one of those idly sissiphean challenges. "Make number go up" and serotonin, or something.
Yes; yes, I have, actually! I can’t remember how I first came across it—I think it was just pure YouTube algorithm shenanigans—but once I sat down and gave it a shot…well, it was certainly a trip. A very cheesy trip with way more production value than I was expecting, but one I enjoyed in any case (though perhaps not quite according to authorial intent). I have yet to watch the sequel, but I do know of how it generally goes—which is indeed tempting to take a look at myself. Two things I could review/opine about in my journal, I suppose!
It showed up on... Netflix? For me once, and I conned my friend into watching it with me. Boy were we not prepared! I keep forgetting there was a sequel... I hope it's as wild a ride as the first! If you do write on it, I'll be thrilled to read.
Hm; not sure if it’s what you’re talking about, but looking things up did remind me that Jurassic Park: Survival is (going to be) a thing—which is something that I’m definitely crossing my fingers for now that I do remember it. There’s also Instinction, of which this gameplay showcase came to mind based on that description.
Actually, I think it was Instinction! Oddly, The Lost World also looks virtually identical... I suppose I won't complain about more games in a genre I enjoy, but it does make things confusing. Here's hoping the best for Jurassic Park: Survival, too!
No I have not, for whatever reason—though I’ll definitely consider changing that! I’ve known of Fred, at the least; my mind was blown when I found out those claymotion animations I occasionally saw in my YT feed were from the same guy as some of the illustrations on Wikipedia!
Dude is super talented... him and Dead Sound. Paleoart is so cool! And I hadn't even realized Fred's stuff was on Wikipedia! He really is talented.

Now... hopefully I formatted that one right! xD
