Mina-san, hello!
I'm Amelia Skywalker. (Yes. That's not my real name. Obviously, I hope.^^;) I'm 30+. No kids, no relationships, temporarily living with my parents & brother in the house I grew up in until I'm not a university student anymore (which will be soon, I hope). You see, my real life is quite boring.
My hobbies are reading books & watching films or tv shows. I especially like the genres science-fiction & fantasy, but crime & horror are my guilty pleasures. I truly dislike the genres romance & romantic comedy. If confronted with them, I might resort to mockery. You've been warned. ~.^
I use my journal to share the joy my hobbies provide. I love to squee about trivial things, but I also quickly turn my attention elsewhere. I can be quite enthusiastic, but I'm not a fanatic.
The tv shows I'm currently watching are: Sherlock (BBC), Castle, The Big Bang Theory, occasionally How I Met Your Mother, and probably later in the year Doctor Who, Eureka & Warehouse 13. Upcoming films I'm looking forward to are: The Avengers, The Woman in Black, Prometheus, The Hobbit (mainly because of the actors), and Star Trek. Books I'm currently reading are The Complete Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, some Kindle stuff that caught my interest when offered for a low price at Amazon, I'm re-reading Lord of the Flies and plan on re-reading some other old books of mine, like The Neverending Story and The Mists of Avalon. I also recently finished the latest installment of the Vorkosigan Saga, "Cryoburn", The Hunger Games trilogy (though I have no intention to watch the film), and re-read the complete Harry Potter ♥ series.
I do NOT read or write fan-fiction. My relationship with fandom is problematic at best; and "the internet community" is frankly annoying the hell out of me. In general, I'm better with individuals than large groups; which is why you won't find me participating in communities much. Unlike some other people I've met, I usually need a good reason to NOT like somebody (instead of needing a special reason to like them).
I have absolutely no tolerance or understanding for the usual suspects: racism, anti-semitism, misogyny, homophobia, discrimination of any kind, religious or political fanatism.
For everything else about my journal, I refer to the list in my profile:
What you will find in this journal:
★ squeeing about trivial things ★
★ short episode reactions ★
★ fannish ramblings ★
★ random thoughts ★
What you WON'T find in this journal:
† real life drama. relationship drama. detailed descriptions about my boring daily life. †
† fan-fiction, fan-vids, fan-art, graphics, or other time-consuming fandom contributions. †
† shipping as well as slashing. †
† fandom wank. ship wars. character hate. actor/actress bashing. †
† knowledge of or interest in the fandom or internet community. (sorry, but i'm not good with large groups and their social dynamics.) †
† detailed reviews or analyses of books, films, tv shows or episodes. i've got other stuff to do! †
† serious discussions about films, tv shows or episodes. seriously, if i wanted that, i'd work for uni right now and not blog about tv. †
I hope to find some like-minded people to have fun with.^^ No need to comment or introduce yourself, just subscribe and grant access, then I'll do the same.
