Slash makes life so much better! But I'm with you on het pairings being just as fun. We've mainly got HP, Glee and Teen Wolf in common. I love Star Trek, especially DS9 - my OTP is Garak/Bashir for eternity. (And I see you like Kurtofsky! Recently finished a 158,000 word series in that pairing, it dominated about two years of my life. Now I'm working on a Kurt/Blaine/Dave fic that was supposed to be 5,000 words but will probably be 15,000...sigh).
