Other Fandoms: My interests section on my profile has a more complete list, but I love science fiction and fantasy lit and would love to meet more fans of that to talk about it with.  (Discworld, Imperial Radch, The Goblin Emperor, etc...) I love a lot of older anime like Utena and Fruits Basket, and also I consume a metric ton of audio dramas because I like to listen to them at work.
Fannish Interests: I mostly lurk and read other people's fic because I am a shy ball of anxiety, but this year's new years resolution is to start posting my own. I also like pretty art of my OTPs but who doesn't.

Adding you for Wes Anderson, your absolutely justified anger that I very much share, and that maybe we can be study buddies. I've been trying to get back into attempting to learn various languages including Japanese. I'm very proud to say that after starting from zero last year I can now recognize most hiragana very quickly.

I would love a study buddy! I'm good with hiragana and I'm learning kanji with Wanikani, but I cannot make katakana stick in my head for the life of me. I guess just because they get reinforced so much less than the other two, but its an endless source of frustration.

I need to get back into a groove with Wanikani; I kind of fell off once we got into winter. Lately I've only had the energy to keep cycling through the hiragana lessons on Duolingo because I can quickly complete those mini flashcard sessions before I go to bed and forget and lose my practicing streak, haha.

I would love to have a better way to practice katakana, too. It rarely comes up? I guess it makes sense that it does, but still.

Oh man, that is a Hard Call, but if I had to pick just one for pure Breqness it was that time she filled out a big old Serious Report for Anaander Mianaai that just said "fuck you" over and over. Icon.
Or that time she taught Zeiat the Radch equivalent of 99 Bottles of Beer On The Wall just to annoy Sphene.

Yay, common interests!
Yeeeeeaaaah, I'd probably be a lot more ambivalent about it if it weren't for someone pointing out that the death of tumblr probably means people wont do gifsets much anymore because they're harder to set up elsewhere. I'm going to miss those!that's how I found new shows!
Otherwise I'm just popcorning and hoping the more toxic parts of tumblr culture die with it.

Yeah. I do love the gifsets. Hopefully, the DW staff will be able to make changes to their (positively ancient, inherited from LJ) code to make adding pics to posts a little easier. It'll take time though, as they're a small volunteer staff and they've really got their work cut out for them.

Yeah. The only people who seem to be staying on Tumblr are the ones who don't want to leave their friends behind (ie. the fan communities that thrive on Tumblr), or those who are the toxic people you should avoid (ie. those friggin' Nazis, TERFs and MAPs).

That would be cool! I've been muddling along with YouTube video tutorials and practicing making simple knit/purl patterns so far. But I'm getting prettier yarn for Christmas, so I'm about to try making my first scarf with ribbing. And looking wistfully at pretty patterns on Ravelry I'm not experienced enough to make yet, lol.

YouTube tutorials are awesome. I made my first pair of socks this year, and the only way I managed the heal was a video. The written directions just made my head make static noises of confusion.

Woohoo! SFF lit friends! Not gonna lie I'm thinking of getting into writing fanfiction for TGE just because people are very rudely not reading my mind and writing the Beshelar/Maia fic I wanna see in the world.
