I think since the fall of journal games (where you had to subscribe to every journal of characters in the game) it's less common to make an extra account for multiple instances of a character. Most people just use the same journal in their multiple games. The only exception would be if you're using very different canon points, for example a skinny!Steve journal for pre-Captain America Steve Rogers, and another journal for a Civil War canon point.
