General Interests: Linguistics, knitting, reading, classical piano, folk music (mostly Klezmer/Scandinavian/Celtic), software development. Recently started reading poetry, and would love some recommendations. I am passably fluent in Swedish (I can read/listen just fine, but haven't had the opportunity to write or speak much, so my productive vocabulary is about a tenth the size of my vocabulary of consumption) and miss living in a place where I was surrounded by it all the time, so if you speak Swedish, please introduce yourself to me!
Other Info: It's been a number of years since I did the online journal thing, or the interactive fandom thing; I dropped out of it during college, which was a decade-long experience for me, although not because of grad school. (I only just completed my bachelor's degree this past spring.) I created this account a couple of years ago to store a couple of translations I made when my laptop was on its last legs, and haven't touched it since. I'm not sure yet what all I'd be posting about, although probably it'll mostly be about things I read/watch. Maybe ongoing knitting projects. Vaguley thinky thoughts about politics/current events. I'm in the process of converting, I was a heathen for years and years, and I find religion endlessly fascinating, so there will probably be some measure of musings about that. (As a broad topic. Not as much pertaining to me directly. Although I am always interested in others' religious experiences, if that's something you're comfortable sharing.) I don't except regular comments, and I'm not super great at starting conversations unless there's a clear avenue of discussion open, so, you know. If you have something completely unrelated to the topic of a post that you'd like to discuss, comments opening up new discussion topics would be awesome.
