Interests: I'm into reading, comic books, movies, tv shows, languages, dinosaurs, motorsport history, and 1920s American gangsters. I'm a fanwriter and an aspiring translator.
What kind of books I read: Mostly non-fiction and adult fiction. I'm not particularly into erotica, romance novels, or YA, but I do have plenty of friends who are, and I deeply dislike people who try to claim the superiority of one genre above others. I don't have a single favorite book; but some of my favorite authors are Neil Gaiman, Anthony Doerr, David Mitchell, Andre Aciman, JRR Tolkien, Ken Liu, Joe Hill, Mikhail Bulgakov, John Ajvide Lindqvist.
What kind of comic books I read: I have a ton of stuff on my to-read list, but lately I'm only keeping up with the new Loki series, the new Venom series, and Monstress. Neil Gaiman, Grant Morrison, and Alan Moore have always been my absolute favorites, though.
What kind of movies I watch: I like sci-fi movies, horror movies, action and thrillers, fantasy, mysteries, historical movies... I'll watch pretty much anything apart from movies that focus exclusively on heterosexual love stories and comedies. I don't *hate* comedies, I just have a dumb sense of humor lol Some of my favorite movies (in random order) are: Jurassic Park, Independence Day, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, El Laberinto del Fauno, Annihilation, Thor Ragnarok, The Secret Garden, any Harry Potter movie (but Prisoner of Azkaban in particular,) Call Me By Your Name, The Ritual, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Inglourious Basterds, The Princess Bride, La Gabbianella e il Gatto, Hobbs&Shaw, It (2017) and It Chapter Two, Inception, The Social Network, Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, Jaws, V for Vendetta, Ex Machina, Pacific Rim, Sunshine, Pitch Black, Even Horizon, Midsommar.
What tv shows I watch: Stuff with pretty much the same vibe as the movies lol Babylon 5, Boardwalk Empire, Hannibal, Utopia (2013,) The Terror, The Umbrella Academy, Chernobyl, Oz, The Pacific&Band Of Brothers, Mindhunter, Mr Robot, Fargo, Firefly, Good Omens, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Agent Carter, Penny Dreadful, Rome, Sharp Objects, Star Trek (TOS,) Swamp Thing, The Alienist, The Newsroom, Timeless, Westworld, are among my favorites. I'm constantly behind, though; I still have to finish watching Masters of Sex, haven't caught up with Mr Robot yet, and I need to find the time to keep watching Barry.
Looking for: Mostly, a fandom-related community. Tumblr and twitter are turning fandom into a scorched wasteland of neo-puritanism and misogyny. I'm not a fan of people who try to police others' fandom experiences, bully them into silence, and dogpile them into submission. I tag my content appropriately, and that's as far as my responsibilities go; I'm not interested into mothering anybody. I want a place where I can go to talk about fandom and chill, somewhere I can decompress after a long day of dealing with real life; I'm not interested in fending off the Purity Police.
What I like to post about: Most of my posts on here have been real life-related, so far, but I don't plan to keep it that way; I'd like to get back into fanwriting and other fannish activities, and if I can find the time and mental strength to do that, the landscape of my blog will probably slowly change.
Random stuff: I'm studying English, Spanish, and a little bit of Hebrew at university. I've been into paleontology since I was a kid, and still love to read about it. I'm into motorsports history; mainly Formula One and open wheel stuff from the mid-'50s to the very early '90s. For some reason, I've read a whole bunch of American gangsters-related history books; I just find the whole social/cultural background in which these guys lived fascinating. I watch way too many hours of youtube videos (Achievement Hunter, Buzzfeed Unsolved, Worth It, literally hours and hours of random people playing Minecraft.) I also keep buying (and drinking) an embarrassingly high amount of tea, have a constant craving for sushi, and own way too many unused notebooks and unlit candles lol
