So, I'm just gonna wing it.

I am a medieval historian (with the masters' degrees and all) and a video game scholar (also with an MA), but I also play games a little obsessively. I used to teach college, and loved it, but the pay was awful, so now I teach middle school. It is wildly frustrating for more reasons than that it's middle school... I'm also a mom, artist, crafty gal, atheist but a little witchy here and there.

My fandoms. Well, lately they are mostly games (and my crushes are all pixel crushes...) but there are several non-game fandoms that will always be near and dear. Here goes:

Shows
Buffy
Supernatural
Firefly
Sherlock
Fringe
Warehouse 13
Bones
(I know they're all old; I don't have cable, and rarely watch TV!)
I loved Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel

Games
Destiny 2 (over 2,500 hours...)
Skyrim (yes, modded, but not 'that' kind of modded, if you know what I mean. Mostly graphic updates, a few new areas/adventures, stuff like that. If you have bikinis, poolside palm trees, and sports cars, you are no longer playing Skyrim, and that is a hill I will die on.)
Fallout 4 (I have a love/hate with 76, and the show was horrible. I said what I said.)
Greedfall (SO underrated! Vasco is everything! LOL)
Valheim
Savage Lands
CoreKeeper
Minecraft
Terraria

Books (These are mostly long-time favorites, because who has time to read non-academic stuff?)
LotR
Watership Down
Nineteen Eighty-Four
Ibsen's later prose plays, from Doll's House to When We Dead Awaken
The Prince (Machiavelli is tragically misunderstood)
The Divine Comedy (I would SO love a reading group to read Inferno; I miss teaching it!)
I love the Outlander books, the show - meh.
Discovery of Witches (Again, loved the books, but the casting was horrible, and yeah, no.)
A Bookman's Tale
And of course, I cut my teeth on stuff like Dragonriders, Darkover, Amber, Elric, etc. The classics. (I may be old....nah!)

Music Not really fandoms, but stuff I like:
Uh...everything? Nah, I got this.
Assemblage 23
Lorenna McKinnet
The Hu
Medieval choral music
Ella Fitzgerald
Sabaton
Mary Chapin Carpenter
The Tannahill Weavers
(Yes, I am completely musically schizo, why?)

So that's most of it. I don't generally get along with anyone deeply religious, and MAGA/Trump supporters, just no. I am totally pro-LGBTQ+, feminist, etc.
