[personal profile] prixmium posting in [community profile] addme_fandom
Hello community! I have made posts probably more than most users here. I don't subscribe to the community because it tends to be very boom and bust, and back when I did on another account it was sort of weirdly discouraging to have it be the majority of my reading page even when I wasn't actually making any friends. My experience on dreamwidth has gotten a lot better, and I have been thinking about my social media presence in general in the meantime. I am settling in to using dreamwidth, and I am developing some healthy distance from twitter, I think. (tumblr went the healthy-distance way a long time ago, though I do still technically have one.)

I have added a few people from the first few posts I saw in scrolling, because it is my belief that if you're going to make a post/write a fic/whatever and expect feedback that you ought to give at least some effort in kind. That said, I don't know that I have gone through every post since the last time I was here, so don't feel off-put if I didn't add you and you see this!

So for the form-letter part of this post:

Name: Prix
Age: 28
Country: USA but currently in Japan until December 14th.
Subscription/Access Policy: I usually subscribe and grant access in-kind to whatever you do if you add me first. So far, I don't really have any access-locked posts, but I do plan to use it in the future for anything that I think contains identifying information or which I would like to restrict broader access to. For example, I'm thinking about posting some meta-posts that will be dreamwidth-exclusive because I might want to try formulating them into a more polished format to be pitched to sites that might pay me for rambling in the future. It's an unlikely dream but a precaution I might take. I haven't decided. You can subscribe at any age, but I guess I'll elect to not grant access to minors. Pay attention to the age-restriction tag if it's there and any in-text warnings. They're rare but they happen.

Main Fandoms (at the moment): Doctor Who, Good Omens

Other Fandoms (just as likely to be main fandoms some months from now; I'm very cyclical): Agents of SHIELD, MCU, CW DCTV/Arrowverse, Fate/stay night (Type Moon), YuGiOh DM, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, The Society (Netflix series), The 100, Star Wars, ATLA, Steins;Gate/Robotics;Notes, Young Justice, Young Avengers, Carmilla, Skins (UK) S1-S4, Narnia (especially the movies/headcanon), The Hunger Games (I don't hate the movies but I want a new film/tv series in the future), Leverage, The Librarians, White Collar, and probably others I'm not listing at the moment.

Fannish Interests: I write fanfic when I can summon the concentration. I would say that I self-identify as a fic-writer more than anything else within the fandom ecosystem. I would like to write more extended efforts, but in recent times adulting and other more draining social media have gotten in the way. I hope that continued dreamwidth usage will help me with that!

I also make icons and other graphics. (I used to make gifsets on tumblr, but I haven't been able to make them lately. Plus I got tired of the low-effort engagement involved.)

I really want to get back into making fanvids, too. I made them on a sort of script-extended version of Windows Movie Maker back in high school and early university, but I haven't made any for years. I have started to make strides toward doing it again, though! I am excited to continue in the near future.

I like to write meta, too.

Basically anything that allows me to do creative commentary and I'm there. Some people say they lurk too much. If anything, I have the opposite problem. I feel skittish if I am not being productive in fandom in a way that may or may not be healthy. I honestly need to work on simply reading others' fic and watching others' vids without it causing me to feel like I am falling down on some self-defined job that I don't actually have.

OTPs and Ships (a smattering; I multi- and poly-ship often):

Under a cut because it seems long??? If you are interested in specifics read. If not, just know I ship Everything and in various intensities including some ~problematic~ things but mostly not. Biggest content warning is that in a handful of fandoms I have some sibling-incest ships. I tag and warn to high heaven if it comes up because I know it squicks some people out seriously, but depending on context I don't automatically condemn it because the world is weird and people are strange ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Seriously, though, this comes up like a few times a year at most and I'm usually pretty normal about ships.

Doctor Who

  • Doctor x Rose Tyler (especially Ten/Rose)
  • Doctor x River Song (especially Eleven/River but Twelve/River was sweet and heartbreaking, too)
  • Doctor x/& Clara Oswald (I'm not sure if I ship it conventionally but I sure am fascinated by their dynamic - could be persuaded depending on circumstance, especially Twelve and Clara are just endlessly fascinating)
  • Clara Oswald x Danny Pink
  • Clara Oswald x Ashildr (Lady | Mayor Me)
  • Doctor x Master (Ten/Simm!Master or Missy/Twelve or Academy era or anything really)
  • Amy Pond x Rory Williams
  • Martha Jones x Jack Harkness (my favorite rarepair in anything honestly)
  • Mickey Smith x Jake Simmonds (vaguely interested; also other crossover ships for Mickey?)

Good Omens

  • Aziraphale/Crowley
  • Newt/Anathema (much less so than Aziraphale/Crowley but I think it deserves thought)

AOS
The main ship I am interested in is Skye | Daisy Johnson/Grant Ward. I am a big fan of redemption arcs which we didn't get in this show. I have only seen AOS through most of S2, but I took it back up again after rage-quitting after seeing gifs from S4. I will get there, eventually.

I also mildly like FitzSimmons and Coulson/May. I also like Skye | Daisy/Jemma (Skimmons) and the wholesome OT4 Bus Kids content from S1's halcyon innocent days. Other canon ships I didn't balk at.

MCU

  • Steve Rogers/Natasha Romanoff
  • Steve Rogers/Sam Wilson
  • Steve Rogers/Natasha Romanoff/Sam Wilson
  • Steve Rogers/Peggy Carter (I dislike the "fix-it" in Endgame, though - can ask me why if you care to)
  • Peter Quill/Gamora
  • Tony Stark/Pepper Potts
  • ??? Those are the main ones I care about. I'm not really a romantic Steve/Bucky fan, though I appreciate their friendship and feel it was cheated in Endgame. There are some others I guess I don't hate but can't be bothered to remember right now. I really dislike Bruce/Natasha but don't hate Clint/Natasha.

Arrowverse

  • Oliver Queen/Shado/Slade Wilson (does Shado share her father's surname idk)
  • Oliver Queen/Slade Wilson
  • Oliver Queen/Felicity Smoak
  • Laurel Lance/Tommy Merlyn
  • Laurel Lance/Tommy Merlyn/Oliver Queen
  • Sara Lance/Nyssa Al Ghul
  • Barry Allen/Iris West(-Allen)
  • Barry Allen/Iris West-Allen/Kara Danvers
  • (platonic) Barry Allen & Kara Danvers
  • Roy Harper/Thea Queen
  • lots of other platonic relationships are important to me and there are other ships I might entertain if I ever watch more content; canon ships I didn't mention I either am fine with or don't remember

Type Moon / Fate/stay night

  • Emiya Shirou/Tohsaka Rin
  • Emiya Shirou/Tohsaka Rin/Saber | Artoria Pendragon
  • Tohsaka Rin/Archer EMIYA
  • Emiya Shirou/Tohsaka Rin/Archer EMIYA/Saber | Artoria Pendragon
  • Saber | Artoria Pendragon/Gilgamesh
  • Shiki Ryougi/Kokutou Mikiya (KnK)
  • Gilgamesh/Enkidu (I like this from mythology too)
  • A bunch of others but this is one of those things where I would be here the rest of my life if I listed vague and/or conditional interests.

Young Justice

Other things are fine but I'm here for Dick Grayson/Artemis Crock/Wally West 99% of the time.

Young Avengers

  • Kate Bishop/Tommy Shepherd/Eli Bradley
  • Billy Kaplan/Teddy Altman

Puella Magi Madoka Magica

I am mostly into Sakura Kyouko/Miki Sayaka. Homura/Madoka is... interesting but deeply unhealthy by the end of it, so I don't know if I ship it as such??? Anyway I am more interested in KyouSaya.

Steins;Gate/Robotics;Notes

  • Okabe Rintarou/Makise Kurisu
  • Senomiya Akiho/Yashio Kaito

Carmilla

  • Carmilla Karnstein/Laura Hollis (but in a mostly passive way? like I just accept canon contentedly and find it interesting)
  • Danny Lawrence/Wilson Kirsch (weird rarepair interest pls help and let me have bi Danny pls)

The 100

I'm 1000% a Bellarke(r). I am happy that Clarke is canonically bi, but I kind of grapple with Lexa's character, so I just have a passive interest in Clexa. I'm not anti-Clexa, though. Or anti-anything. I am just here to ship AU Bellarke in peace. I also saw a really cute Murven video once that made my heart hurt. (Can we tell I like redemption arc-adjacent love stories yet?) Speaking of...

ATLA

Katara/Aang and canon-whatever-else is fine, but I am 90% into poly Katara/Aang/Zuko (several years down the line).

I also like the notion of Suki/Sokka having an open relationship which involves some level of not-committed-but-happy Sokka/Toph later on too.

And I like scary and interesting but eventually getting-healthier Azula/Ty Lee.

Regular Katara/Zuko is also fine, but I want Aang to be happy with something somewhere in that case. I'm like less interested in Katara/Aang without Zuko? But I don't dislike it as such.

The Hunger Games

Peeta Mellark/Katniss Everdeen. They were like my first canon ship that actually got to be together at the end of the story, however bittersweet. Any other ships are mostly thought experiments.

White Collar

I only care about Neal Caffrey/Peter Burke/Elizabeth Burke OT3. I don't mind Sara. Maybe it can be an open relationship where Neal goes off with Sara on crazy adventures when Peter and El visit in-laws who probably wouldn't understand their addition of a thief that Peter has arrested into their marriage.

Leverage

CANON OT3. That is all. And Sophie/Nate is fine.

The Librarians

I felt robbed by how they kept pushing Cassandra/Jake and infantilizing Ezekiel after S1. I prefer Cassandra/Ezekiel as a twosome, but I did also like the LiT OT3. I also would like Jake/Eve/Flynn based on that one episode where Eve found out that both Jake/Eve and Cassandra/Eve happened in alternate universes.

Star Wars

I like AniDala and ReyLo. Sorry not sorry. I also like the idea of AU Padme/Obi-Wan but for some reason never got on the poly-train here.

INCEST MENTIONS BELOW. Skip to the end of the cut if it squicks you marked by ---

Narnia
Incest Mention

I like Pevencest, specifically Edmund/Lucy and Peter/Susan respectively. I think that it is interesting as a sort of examination of an Eden-like situation even though I think people put way too much pressure on Narnia as a one-to-one allegory. I am more interested in the fantasy world how-would-people-react-to-that-circumstance way. They grew up once and then had to de-age. By the time they grew up in Narnia, they had forgotten all about England. I am just fascinated by the conflict brought about there by what would one even do in a "we are the only four humans in our entire kingdom" situation.

Skins (UK)
Another singular incest mention

The incest ship I like in Skins is Tony Stonem/Effy Stonem. I view it as being messed up, but in an interesting way that is perhaps less unhealthy and strange than what the alternatives probably are. I kind of view it in a sort of Greek tragedy sort of way but hope nobody has to actually die.

Well, Freddie died. I also liked Effy/Freddie and was mad about that.

I also like Emily Fitch a lot. I think Naomi is interesting. And I think it is refreshing that if only one couple of Gen 2 got a "happy ending" that it was the lesbian couple. However, I thought that in the series proper that while it might've been a good growing experience for both of them, it didn't seem like the kind of ship that should've been endgame for either of them? I don't hate Skins Fire for Effy's sake, but I hate it for Naomi and Emily's sake. I would've preferred to just leave that book closed and to imagine that they eventually grew apart and mostly-amicably broke up.

I also have a lot of other thoughts about canon ships I guess but dunno if I wanna write a whole other post about them here.

---

Other Interests: I like listening to music, both popular and showtunes from musicals (I wasn't sure if I should list it as a fandom but lately have been watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend). I want to get into crocheting and guitar more than I have in the past. I have dabbled. I love dogs. I am interested in religious studies and my own self-knowledge and faith which I mention sometimes but not in a way that seeks to convert anyone against their wishes. I am pro-LGBT rights (bi myself haha). I am generally progressive in my politics, but sometimes my hardcore leftist friends don't think I'm far-left enough. However, I am compassionate and willing to listen when people think I'm wrong. I generally avoid political discourse on my blog here because twitter is exhausting enough, but I am interested in political philosophy, food justice, and economic justice in particular.

I'm weirdly addicted to true crime media.
