Not gonna lie, it took me time to warm up to Chomper—I first watched the fifth movie before I did the second movie, so I was essentially introduced to him out of context; that being said, how sweet and soft-hearted he was felt more like a betrayal to my conception of the sharpteeth at the time[...]

Y'know, I haven't watched the TV series yet. Was thinking about tossing it on my Plex server sometime to do so. I really like the idea that Chomper talks with... what's his name? Redclaw? And the other theropods. I wish they cared enough to go into the lore of why pterodactyls, notoriously fish and small creature-eating beasts, wouldn't be LBT's version of bilingual... or why they were welcome at all. Maybe fish aren't people in that world? (Mo is an ichthyosaur, if I'm remembering correctly, and therefore a marine reptile)... Mm, I might have to think on that more later.

With VAs, it truly is a small, small world!

My main pain point was not being the biggest ego in the room by far—I jest, in part, but there was one mod in particular who would just not shut up about his crackpot Saurophaganax speculations…

That's certainly an interesting take on... well, any single theropod, really. As much as I love dinosaurs, I've done little actual work regarding them, so I can't do much more than raise a brow on that one. It does feel very "justifying my OP/super cool character"-y, though, with that context.

Perhaps even if they are successful in their studies, they'll be shot down by every professor and colleague for such a bold claim? Sweeping statements like those tend to be laughed out of the room in many academic circles, as far as I've seen (again, mind, I'm not in the paleo-sphere).

…including a few especially notorious ones that I honestly should not have ingested from such a young age for how formative they might’ve ended up being for me. Ah well.

Ah, Molestia or Little Miss Rarity? XD

On bronies though, I do greatly miss the glory days of them... certainly the most accepting, thoughtful fandom I had been a part of since the golden days of furries. Or perhaps my glasses are rose-colored because I was younger, and less people made discourse their entire life. Ah, well.

Tremolo Hunter, When Dark Sparks Fly, and Category Six are up there on my favorite tracks to have come out of the DS—pretty sure the latter two especially played a large part in keeping me pumped up as I kept bashing my head against the final boss.

Truly; I found the first Yo-Kai Watch to be rather tedious, but main battle theme really kept me engaged. Music is strange that way. Or maybe I just really like monster tamer games (I do). Funny, when you listen to that theme on its own, it sounds... different? Than when you're actually mid-battle. Neat!

Yeah, that tracks—even for how much I remember Champions’ twist villain reveal absolutely flooring me as a kid, I keep forgetting there even was one nowadays.

Oh yeah, there was a twist...

Talented indeed; wholly agreed on the Dead Sound shoutout—artistry of the whole Dinosauria series aside, “The Last Tyrant” genuinely gutted me in a way I thought I’d grown past…

Speaking of talent, the ever-prolific RJ Palmer definitely has my respect in that regard—especially for that freakish edge to a lot of his fiction reinterpretations in particular. And on the topic of reinterpretation, for as much of a stick-in-the-mud as he sometimes comes across to me, Unnatural History Channel provides a proverbial smorgasbord of food for thought when it comes to creature design.

That entire series of shorts felt so profound and meaningful, but I agree with you on that one in particular.

I completely forgot he had a YouTube! I think I remember some annoying remarks from him on Twitter, admittedly (a stick-in-the-mud indeed), his work is gorgeous and his videos are incredibly helpful. I should go back and rewatch a bunch of them, I've been meaning to design some creatures...

Nothing looks off to me, at least! And I suppose now we’re about even as to the delay, heh

Excellent! And I suppose so. Ah well, no rush. Long-form blogging and forum communication doesn't need to be instant... Which I quite prefer at this point, honestly.
