Introduction
Sep. 1st, 2010 02:49 pmName: Sarah
Age: 31
Main Fandoms: Star Trek, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Firefly, Buffy, Torchwood, X-Files, Babylon 5, Sherlock Holmes (Jeremy Brett version.)
Fannish Interests: reading fanfic. Meta. I'd love to go to a con, but have huge student loans and am saving for a house.
Favourite Movies: Fifth Element, Star Trek XI
TV Shows: Star Trek, Babylon 5, House, Bones, Firefly, Futurama, Dirty Jobs, Penn and Teller's Bullshit, Mythbusters
Books: Kushiel's Dart (Jacqueline Carey), Cryptonomicon (Neal Stephenson), Stone's Fall (Iain Pears.) I'm slowly working my way through the classics and read a lot of non-fiction. I'm partial to Richard Dawkins, Carl Sagan, and Noam Chomsky.
Music: Tori Amos, They Might Be Giants, Faith and the Muse, Cake
Other Info: I'm a librarian. I knit and crochet. I love cats and have 2 of them. I love humor. Even though I'm serious about justice and equality for everybody (and I mean EVERYBODY - I'm a leftist, feminist, trying to be a good ally person), I can still laugh at HORRIBLE things all the while feeling outraged and horrified. Maybe it's a defense mechanism? But it does have to be funny. Similarly, it takes a lot to push my squick button if something is well written.
In every fandom I end up being obsessed with an brilliant, lonely, highly principled - sometimes those principles are a little tweaked - character like Spock, Leonard McCoy, new Kirk, Spike, Dana Scully, Temperance Brennan, Severus Snape, Sherlock Holmes, the Doctor, etc.
I will ship any pairing that has that intellectual and emotional spark.
