Yet another migrant here from Tumblr-- I had many an LJ years ago because I was an active RPer but jumped ship during Strikethrough. 

One of the reasons I shifted here was actually because I miss RPing, Tumblr was never meant for it, though I tried it there, it'll never beat good old forum-style RPing.

I can literally talk about RW/YST for days, it was my first ever anime once I knew what anime was, it has remained, imho a testament to the shounen genre as a whole, and one that as far as plot and pacing can be learned from by more recent forever-running series...

But yes, thank you. I will be importing some character analysis soon as I'm starting another re-watch. (Did you know it's on Crunchyroll subbed? Because it is, and if you've never seen it subbed it's almost a different series. 100x better than the dub.)

No problem! On top of that the 30th anniversary of the show is this year so the fandom (at least on Tumblr) has been a lot more active. It's a great time to rewatch the series and get back into the fandom since we're actually active again.

Thank you! I'm mainly interested in compelling multi-fandom games (not just "toss all these characters into a void and have them interact") and while I could do one on one I'm more comfortable with plotty games that give the characters reasons to interact and conflict with one another.I also have one OC that I'm attached to enough to do something with, so any suggestions would be wonderful.

Awesome! Most games on DW are panfandom, and the only issue is there's kind of a dearth of games atm...I think we're in a bit of a dry spell as far as people wanting to start up new games. However, I do have some ideas of what might be good for you, especially as a player of an OC!

I see people link this a lot to beginners starting out here, but you'll need to scroll down to "guides/advice" for starting out - that should really be first in this list, I think. There's a lot of info there, and I also have a guide to starting out myself here that I made to try and distill things a little better.

The journal linked on the resource page at dwmasterlist is a good place to look for games. If you have specific questions about any, be sure to ask me, as I can either answer or ask around to friends to get you one.

We don't have that many fandoms in common except Classic Who, but I always enjoy meta discussions. I also sew, though mainly historical clothes. So if you are interested I'd be happy to add you.

Oh, I would love to have some costumer friends on here! My brother was married this October and it was a masquerade wedding, and I made my dad a Union Officer's formal dress. The choices were that or a reenactment-grade Revolutionary War outfit. He looked at me and dead-panned "I'm not wearing knickers" and pointed to the Civil War pattern.

I have recently been on a Victorian era kick and ordered a few dress and skirt patterns. Do you use Folkwear patterns at all? They're pricey but a wonder repository of historical patterns.

I usually make my own patterns, but I've been looking at Folkwear Patterns for years. They are so pretty! I've mostly made 18th century, but I'm branching out and did a Pre-raphaleite inspired wardrobe for a Victorian weekend this summer.

I would love to learn how to make my own patterns, do you have any resources/advice? That wardrobe sounds lovely, are there pictures? I take WIP pictures of all my work, because I like to look back and see how far I've come. Folkwear patterns are great, I only have a few-- the Big Sky Riding Skirt, Tea Dress and tabi socks. I want to get all of their Japanese patterns because I love the care and artistry of kimono and yukata. So much of their beauty is in how functional it is.

I'm afraid I don't have any online sources. I had a term of pattern drafting when I was 21, and I still use the books I got back then. :) I have several pattern books with extant clothes; Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion-series for example, and use them as a template.

I have Thoughts on the pacifist route with Markus and how it makes the most sense for his character--also Josh. His model was meant to work as a college lecturer, mainly for philosophy and humanities subjects, so it makes perfect sense that when he went deviant, he had all that knowledge in his head a strived for peace. North accuses him of siding with humans but how can he not? He can't break completely from what he was before he went deviant, and neither, really, can Markus. Sorry that has been on my mind for a really long time.

oh man, yes! I had a lot of similar thoughts - like how the robots' free will is constrained by what they were before. Like, humans see it all the time - our community, short-term oriented brains have a hard time with globalization and long-term issues. The androids' ability to choose necessarily has to be constrained by their programming. idk i think about that with Connor - he became deviant at a crucial junction, and with his deep connection to Cyberlife servers and his complex coding, I don't know how he'd choose a path going forward.

I am going to re-post a thing from my Tumblr about the role of compassion in deviancy and how it informs everything the three playable characters do. So keep an eye on my journal, because this is a really important topic to me as a Buddhist, and wether it was an intentional.message in the game or not, it's really hard to ignore the role of compassion in how they become deviant.
