Other Info: starting next spring I'll be an Illustration major at academy of art university. I've been very very slowly trying to teach myself Japanese (started when I was 13.. haven't made to much progress to say the truth) just to learn it and keep my mind off of things. I'm also really in to video games.. I love the horror genre and I'm currently all about Minecraft. I'm excited for the release of Pokemon Black this month as well. I don't really squee about my fandoms that much in my journal unless it is related to pokemon merch or Megumi Ogata...

I'm trying to learn Japanese on my own too. It's tricky... so much to learn, it's hard to pick the right info.

yeah.. I'm stuck on just trying to talk myself into studying at the moment :| I know my kana (well.. hiragana is down pat.. just give me a few minutes to deal with katakana.. haha!) but trying to get kanji in and the rest? yeah..

have you tried anki? I used that and downloaded one of the pre-made kanji decks, it made learning some of the basic ones a breeze ^-^

I have tried it and found I didn't really care for it ^-^;; though using books and writing down questions/answers kind of helps with memorizing and such.
