Hi I'm another one from Tumblr. Still figuring out Dreamwidth, I miss the photo-based stuff on Tumblr since I'm an artist, but I need *somewhere* to share my nsfw stuff...

Fannish Interests: I write fic and draw fanart - most will be crossposted to AO3 and/or Tumblr (depending on how long Tumblr is a viable community). I also dabble in nsfw fanart.
OTPs and Ships: Narumitsu/Wrightworth, Klapollo, Phoenix Wright/Kristoph Gavin, Trupearl, literally any femslash ship involving Franziska von Karma, Sakuryou - and way too many ships in my other fandoms, although honorable mentions should go to Doctor/Master, Crowley/Aziraphale, Davekat, and Spirk.

Other: I'm a semi-professional comic artist and I dabble in indie videogame design. I'm looking for fan content for my favorite characters and ships. I'm hoping this will be a fun community to get involved in!

Yeah there's so many great things about AA it's hard to pick just one!

After playing a bunch of Undertale and the new Deltarune I got like "hey.... I could probably learn enough code to make my own videogame" and now I'm making a videogame about a little dog running through a maze. My current icon is actually the MC of the game

that's really cool! i can use ren'py a little, so i usually stick to visual novels. i'm thinking of working up a bigger, more serious project, but who knows!!

You actually can do okay with images here. I’d recommend something like imgur on “private” for hosting, then dropping the direct link into basic html img tags.

It’s not too hard to google a guide for anything specific you want to do with image tags, I’m incompetent with code and have managed with it before, although I haven’t put much effort into it yet on this journal.

Yeah, hosting to imgur looks like it's gonna have to be what I do no matter where I go... I'm just reluctant to start yet *another* social media account or soon I'm going to have more than I can keep track of

I’ve never actually used mine as a “social media” - all my stuff is only visible if I link to it, and I’ve never looked around on it. I used to use Photobucket but they screwed that site up hard.

As kyanve_te_shirhan above me said, you can host your images in a private album on imgur or something, and you can also create custom HTML tables and stuff to arrange your images the way you would like!

See I love Critical Role, but by now I'm 20-30 episodes behind on the Mighty Nein so I feel like I can't be an active participant in the fandom (because I hate spoilers).

On the other hand, talk to me about ALL things Vox Machina, I am an absolute slut for Vox Machina.

Oh gosh, feel free to yell about stuff as you get to it with me, I love hearing people react to the M9 stuff and I promise not to spoil things for you! There is some stuff that is Very Exciting to yell about in that campaign! I got one of my friends hooked and she’s catching up through the backlog of C2, and her reactions are amazing and I love them. Also when I was watching through the backlog I really wanted to yell about it but I didn’t know anyone and fandom had already moved on with the current episodes, and it was frustrating! Because I really wanted to yell!

I’m actually backwards from you though, I started with C2 and caught up to current, and now I’m going back and watching C1 at a slower pace. I’m only up to about episode 16 I think, and although I know most of the major big deal story beats I think, it’s still very fun to watch it unfold.

I started watching C1 about a year ago, and I remember that I caught up to being current with the show LITERALLY the week before the 100th episode, so the 100th episode was the first one I ever watched live (and it was like six hours long i was so exhausted at the end!!)

I've been having a lot of fun with C2 but for me it's really not the same... I loved the VM crew so much that it's been hard to get as excited about the new characters, especially when they're all being so tight-lipped about their backstories. (Which is totally in-character but also totally frustrating!) It's just a very different bunch with a very different dynamic, which is fun but also hard for me to get as excited about.

Oh gosh, that’s a heck of a first episode! I caught up to C2 and watched episode 26 as my first live episode.

I think I feel similarly about Vox Machina as you feel about the Mighty Nien, currently. The M9 are my first loves, and VM have yet to completely win me over. I trust all the Critters who say that the campaign builds to something really special, though, and I trust the cast enough to stick it out.

Yeah, it's always hard to re-connect with new characters if the old characters are the ones you love, no matter which order you meet them in.

And to be very fair, VM has a very rocky start, because nobody knew what Critical Role was going to be or how to roleplay live on camera - one of the reasons the M9 has been so good is because they now all have several years of experience doing this!

I just miss VM a lot.....

I think as you say, first loves is definitely a factor. On the other hand, the fact that I love Nott helps me appreciate Sam as a player, which is helping me to at least give Scanlan the benefit of the doubt and trust that I’ll come to like him in time, because I know he’s being played by someone who has acting chops and the ability to develop and portray a multidimensional character.

And you’re right, playing for fun in private is very different from playing for the benefit of an audience, and it requires a different approach and set of skills. It’s easier to track what’s going on when there’s less crosstalk and the players are on the same wavelength about giving each other space to do scenes and have moments. In campaign 2, the players have the benefit of the specific “playing d&d on camera” skills that they developed in campaign 1.
