Not asking you to be friends on my DW, though I see a few fandoms I love (LOTR, and to a certain extent, X-Men and Smallville though totally different ships from yours - NCIS is on my to-watch list but haven't watched yet), but you've got a delightful collection of older fandoms listed there and I figured I'd ask: If you were ever interested, I'm managing the project to tag Yahoo Groups with the correct fandoms and such so that the data saved from before Yahoo deleted everything can be uploaded to the Internet Archive, and you'd be welcome to volunteer with it.

I don't normally use this comm for that! - I enjoy seeing what people are into in the unlikely chance that someone shares my super rare fandoms - but so many of the older fandoms are featured heavily in Yahoo Groups, and your list reads like a list of the top fandoms in Yahoo Groups in some way. There are TONS of HP groups, for instance, as well as Buffy/Angel, X-Men, NCIS, Smallville, Star Trek, Stargate, Pokemon, Digimon, Card Captor Sakura, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc. So you'd find *plenty* of interest to you, I think.

If you're not at all interested, absolutely no worries! I will not trouble you further and will simply resume keeping an eye on this comm for anyone who loves my super obscure fandoms, lol. If you are, feel free to PM me.

Understand, though you may have misunderstood - none of the data is actually ON Yahoo anymore - Yahoo deleted all the groups at the end of 2020, and removed access to the data earlier that year. Before that happened, though, a bunch of volunteers worked to save what we could - over 960,000 groups' worth, of which probably a third is fandom - and it's actually all on my hdds (and someone else's as well so it's not lost). The trouble is it came in a disorganized mess and we don't even know what we have, much less have it so that we can upload, say, all the HP groups in one block, and all the Pokemon groups in another block, etc. So the project involves people using Google Sheets to read group descriptions and "tag" them with the appropriate fandoms and related tags (it helps to have people who know the fandoms well, you see, though a lot can be done by much googling), and those tags will be loaded back into a database and used to help me sort the data out so that it *can* get uploaded by fandom blocks. But that is time-consuming and not for everyone.

I'll definitely get to it at some point! I've only now been watching through Law & Order and enjoying it, but I'm taking my own sweet time as I don't spend much time watching anything these days (and L&O has A Lot to watch with how long it's run! even longer if one counts SVU which I've got my eye on as well). I do love cop type shows, though - I adore Rookie Blue, Rizzoli & Isles, Women's Murder Club, Sue Thomas F.B.Eye, C-16: FBI, Rejseholdet, am way behind on FBI and FBI: Most Wanted but I love those as well… so it's firmly planted on my to-watch list, probably as soon as I get through L&O. :) Thanks for the further rec!
