Name: Jess. For reals.
Age: 23 (birthday is on the 26th this month)
Country: Canada
Subscription/Access Policy: Usually friends-only, I forget to lock up the odd post though I really don't have much to hide.
Main Fandoms: Mass Effect, Phoenix Wright, Animal Crossing, Batman!
Other Fandoms: Legend of Zelda anything, Super Mario and related things, Yu-Gi-Oh (I like to pretend that GX and later didn't happen)
Fannish Interests: I'm not as much into writing fanfiction anymore though I do tend to read the odd one here and there; I do fanart, I usually try to do some really ridiculous fanart just to get people laughing or riled up--I love peoples' reactions to petty things, really. That's about it, really.
OTPs and Ships: ooooh boy
Mass Effect: Jeff/EDI, EDI/Legion, Legion/a toaster, my fist/Khalisah Bint Sinan al-Jilani
Phoenix Wright: Phoenix/Mia, Mia/Diego
...Megamind and Roxy!! ♥
Favourite Movies: Megamind, Brooklyn's Finest, The Boondock Saints, Batman (...just about any Batman), The Simpsons movie, South Park, Sucker Punch, Men In Black, Iron Man
TV Shows: Futurama, Married With Children, American Dad, Corner Gas
Books: The Chocolate War, the Mass Effect novels, A Tale of Redwall series, Harry Potter, A Year Down Yonder
Music: I seriously listen to just about a little bit of almost everything. I'm open to new things I haven't listened to, though the majority I do listen to is usually very pop/dance-like music, rap, country music, and video game remixes. Trying to swing more metal and rock in there, I have more classical music than I do that haha.
Games: Mass Effect, Call of Duty, The Sims, Animal Crossing, Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row 1-3, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat, Odin Sphere, Star Fox (SNES and 64--the others didn't happen), Phoenix Wright, Dungeons and Dragons (tabletop, not electronic ones), Vampire (cardgame), Arkham Horror (board)
Comics/Anime/Misc: Uzumaki, Phoenix Wright fan comics, Batman, Flight series, City of Light/City of Dark, Mars, Pichi Pichi Pitch, Blankets, Madoka Magica
Other Info:
Um...I'm a huge fan of aliens and trying to put together a story/comic I've had on the go and have been encouraged to do for the last 6 years.
I 'graduated' from beauty school as an Esthetician on April 4th of this year, just making up days that I missed and this Thursday night I will have in my hands my diploma and official certification in my province.
I'm getting married this year in October.
I really, really, really, really enjoy ice cream.
I'm lactose intolerant.
I'll ramble on about anything in my journal, from work to school to weird ideas I get sitting at my desk that I just *le gasp* HAVE to tell the world about. I'm also the kind of person who kids around in more obnoxious or blunt ways--it's not uncommon for me to write something jokingly but people get highly offended when I meant nothing by it at all. I have strong opinions about some things (duh) though will hear out anothers' opinions and get along just fine with them as long as they're not forcing it down my throat. IE: I believe there MAY be a god, though I'm a believer that anything that involves Jesus is all bullshit--my friends can believe it all they want and I totally respect that and won't crap all over them in comments or in their journals, however if I write a post that isn't directed at you but may highlight my rambling about how Jesus must have been a "drunk hobo" or something silly, don't parade into my journal to bitch at me for it because...well, when it comes right down to it it's my journal and that's that.
Iunno. I know it's silly but I view mine and other peoples' journals as though they're houses and they have rules. Regardless of all of that though, if anyone DOES find anything I say offensive I'd rather they politely tell me that it has hurt them instead of acting like a whiny jerk over it or throwing a tantrum at me--I usually throw the same amount of respect right back at you and I bite hard. I'm more than likely to apologize and try to re-state what I'm saying in a non-offensive way, or if I can't I'll just do an apology and forget it happened, move on.
....though if people do it too often then I might just get snarky and label you as a whiner. :p
I love you?
