Name: Char
Age: 20
Country: England
Subscription/Access Policy: Posts are access only, but I'll give access to pretty much anybody who asks.
Main Fandoms: Tiger & Bunny (really can't stress how pathetically into this I am, ha) Tales Of series, Shin Megami Tensei series, gaming in general?
Other Fandoms: Doctor Who, Pokemon, Iron Man, a list of other comics as long as my arm that I dip in and out of and never manage to get quite up to date with, Mass Effect, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, My Little Pony (G1/G4)
Fannish Interests: Cosplay (sometimes), not shutting up about series I like (always), customising bait ponies (which is a secret to the rest of the world, ssh)
OTPs and Ships: ALL THE PAIRINGS. I am not fussy about shipping.
Favourite Movies: I really don't watch many movies these days honestly! My favourite film of all time is probably Mean Girls, but I enjoy horror (but not the stuff that's pointlessly gory). :T
TV Shows: Breaking Bad, The Wire, Futurama, Sherlock, Dexter, trashy daytime TV (Maury!!)...don't really watch much TV either as I don't have a license, ha.
Books: Errrrr Plague Dogs is my favourite book even if it pretty much always makes me cry I'm a wuss and I'm a big fan of the Shadows of the Apt series, but I also really like The Hunger Games, Percy Jackson & The Olympians and The Kane Chronicles. I read a lot of the standard YA stuff that I'm probably getting too old for. :p
Games: Civilization V, The Binding of Isaac, Diablo III, Monster Rancher, Deadly Premonition, Nier, Dungeons of Dredmor, osu!, Mass Effect, Monster Hunter. I'm currently killing myself waiting for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and live on Steam (if you're curious, I'm over yonder).
Other Info: Errr hi, I'm Char! I'm an animal management student looking into veterinary nursing but keep getting light-headed when I look at the uni fees. I spend a lot of my childhood travelling (mostly in Egypt, but I got around) and was really too young to appreciate it. :< I get really enthusiastic about pretty much anything involving superheroes, no matter how terrible the series/book/movie etc is.
I am admittedly really terrible at remembering to update my journal but I do check my reading page a lot, although it is kinda quiet at the moment as the majority of my dw friends seem to have collectively gone on hiatus. When I do post, it's usually split fifty fifty between whatever's going on in my life and some giddly word vomit about how awesome series x is.
If you think we have something in common/you think I sound tolerable, give me a shout and let's be buddies! c:

Date: 2012-09-22 02:54 am (UTC)Working with animals would be fun but yeah I imagine vet would take a long time with study and be on the expensive side. I'm more or less the same, only update if I feel something worth updating about happens but I check my reading page pretty much daily. I have some info/posts that are public if you want to check them before adding.

Date: 2012-09-25 04:58 pm (UTC)Oooh, I really like most of the Marvel movies, they're a lot easier to get into than trying to make my way through infinite issues of series I haven't really been following. Also I would totally recommend t&b if you've enjoyed superhero stuff in the past, the series takes a lot from western comics.
I've really liked the (sadly unpaid) work I've done with animals so I know it's something I want to do as a career but wow I am really not looking forward to school fees. It's like 34k minimum. ;n;
Adding you!

Date: 2012-09-25 11:18 pm (UTC)The movies are a lot more accessible, I barely have any idea where to start with comics beyond what my boyfriend has, tbh. T&B does seem like a series he and I would enjoy so I will keep an eye out for it when it is released on DVD.
Well, even if it is volunteer work, you are building up experience with animals, which would definitely help later when you go on for paid work working with them though? Even if it is expensive to study and be qualified.

Oh, I did some nosing about on your profile
I'm not a creeper, I swear, I'm guessing you're into rping? Are you anywhere on dw at the moment?no subject
Date: 2012-09-30 07:34 am (UTC)Haha, no bother, my profile is there to be looked at! XD Unfortunately I'm not in any rps at the moment, university has started and essays are pretty much eating all my time, so I wouldn't be able to keep up with rps. But I do have a musebox
which I still need to set up here at DWthat I use to fool around with my muses whenever I'm in the mood and I've got some time on my hands - we can rp through that if you want! :) Or maybe we can rp on your musebox, if you have one/want to?
