Hello hello! I made a DW account a few months back but haven't been using it much, and I thought maybe having some more people to follow/interact with would help to incentivize myself to hang out here more.

Name: Gray
Age group: 20-25
Country: United States
Subscription/Access Policy: Still too new to know exactly what (although it goes without saying that if you're being bigoted or an ass I'm not likely to want anything to do with you).

Fannish Interests: My fandoms vary a lot over time. Right now I really like Revolutionary Girl Utena and some parts of the Boku no Hero Academia universe, although I'm also in the atlantagonists community, if that piques your interest.
I like to post about: Not a whole lot right now--most of my journal is currently oneshots or random incorrect quotes. Although there are definitely some metas I think I should crosspost from Tumblr--
About Me/Other Info: I'm a writer (my Ao3 is I_Deal_In_Nightmare_Fuelof both fanfic and the occasional rambling meta post, I love the characters people hate (especially angry villain characters), and I will happily yap at anyone who asks about anything related to whatever it is I'm interested in at the moment for thousands of words.

Hello!

Recurring posts might help. They also nail down your main topics so folks know what your blog is mostly about.

[community profile] getting_started and [community profile] reddit_refugees are good for newcomers. [community profile] fandomcalendar is a place to find events. Also watch for communities that post multiple events, like [community profile] allbingo (a new fest each month) or [community profile] smallfandomfest (events for different small fandoms).

>> and I thought maybe having some more people to follow/interact with would help to incentivize myself to hang out here more.<<

That's an excellent plan.

You can also subscribe to communities and their posts will appear on your Reading page. Use the Interests page, [community profile] followfriday, or [site community profile] dw_community_promo to find ones you might like.

>> Still too new to know exactly what <<

Look at other people's sticky posts or profile page to see what kinds of things they are saying. It'll give you an idea of your options. A blanket statement or transformative works statement is about how other folks can use their fanworks. Some people post a friending policy. You don't have to set a stance immediately, you can think about possibilities until you decide what you want.

>> Although there are definitely some metas <<

For meta, consider [community profile] meta_warehouse and [community profile] marchmetamatterschallenge.

>> Oh, thank you for the advice on recurring posts! <<

*bow, flourish* Happy to be of service.

>> I have something like that already with my Monthly Short Pieces, but those are a) monthly rather than weekly and b) less about my journal and more just oneshots. <<

Monthly counts! My community recurring posts are monthlies. If a blog has at least one post a month, most people will consider it "active." Weekly is better but not everyone wants to post that much, which is fine. But if you have a monthly recurring post and a few others spread out, you should be covered.

Fic counts too. It doesn't matter what the content is, just that you have some stuff people know to expect.

>> And I'll definitely check out those communities you mentioned. <<

Yay!

Oh my god that’s exactly it! I even thought “maybe it was Leech…” but then I thought “nah it’s gotta be my old Danny Phantom fic” 😆
